“The staff was exceptional and the venue was more than just a location,” Cameron says. “The incredible art and architecture were central to my vision. I wanted everything about the place lit up, put on display. I fell in love.”

Family and guests spent the weekend in the Art District, where Cameron got ready in the Maclellan House. The preparation was one great bustle of friends, family, cocktails, and hair and make-up being patted and painted into place by Sabra Phillips of Eye Candy Salon & Boutique and Amanda Burnett of Nourish Skin Studio. All vendors were referred by Cameron’s wedding coordinator, Donna Jacob.

The ceremony took place overlooking the river on the expansive back roof of the Hunter. To the music of a hammered dulcimer played by Lisa Ferguson, Cameron entered between the white pillars of the Edwardian-style mansion. Blue hydrangeas and deep orange roses and lilies, provided by Divine Designs, created bold splashes of color.

“You could see the light reflecting on the metal of the newer structure,” Cameron says, “while we were gathered below the columns of old architecture. What a dramatic entry!”

For the reception, the museum was open to all guests, who could pick up sumptuous food in the towering atrium and explore the art at their leisure. The stone floor of the atrium became a dance floor, as guests got down to the music of Creativity.

Sound Force and Luma Designs set up the lighting and décor, accentuating the gorgeous architecture of the museum, while White Table furnished the linens. Food was provided by Impressions Catering and the art deco cake by Cup-A-Dee Cakes.

Once again, Cameron can’t praise these local businesses and the Hunter enough. “We could not have picked better people to support us on that day.”
