This European-style residence exudes elegance and comfort from top to bottom, and its breathtaking views from every room are rivaled only by the stunning design.

At the top of a winding drive in Ooltewah, this secluded mountain-top sanctuary is a masterpiece of design, rising in grandeur above the valley. Its relaxed, yet elegant European feel naturally draws guests to its comfortable, enjoyable setting. The splendor of the home is evident in its epic view and the attention to detail that is carried out throughout the home.

“The panoramic view was the driving force in the home layout as well as the design,” interior designer Jodi Brewer says. “Not many people realize the view is here, and I didn’t want to take away from it.”

To the left of the entryway is the home’s kitchen. A dream work space for those with a culinary inclination, it is both functional and beautiful. The cabinets, a combination of a knotty cherry wood with a custom glazed finish and a Tuscan glaze on hickory, were selected to carry on the European flair. Leathered textured river granite—a durable countertop surface for serious chefs—blends beautifully with the cabinets, and a hand-buffed hood completes the look. A double-arched cabinet hiding large appliances is a focal point of the room. Lofty tongue and groove ceilings with hand-hewn beam accents add architectural interest to the space.

“Our goal was to design a gorgeous piece of furniture to conceal the refrigerator and freezer units with matching cabinet panels,” says Jackie Howard of Scarlett’s Custom Cabinetry. “The magnificent double-arched cabinet is truly the most custom piece we’ve ever designed or made.”

Just off the kitchen and living area, a banquet room provides a relaxed and elegant space. Gorgeous limestone composite scagliola fi replaces bookend the room, while large arched windows show off dramatic vistas. Centered below a stunning coffered ceiling, a large rug adds warmth and French antiqued velvet settees lend a sumptuous feel. A round dining table is perfect for conversation and long dinner parties.

Across the hall from the banquet room, the music room provides for a quiet respite. Wood beams combined with a classic-style oak bookcase and neutral-painted walls offer a cozy library feel. Accents of houndstooth wool fabric, valets, and chenille further make this room an ideal spot for reading and relaxing.

The master suite is tucked away on the main floor for plenty of privacy. The elegant bedroom is simple and understated to allow for an incredible view to be the focal point. A seating area in front of the window is an ideal vantage point for relaxing. Calm colors and natural light fi ll the master bathroom and set a soothing tone. A barrel ceiling above the large soaking tub is truly spectacular, and the room’s crema marfil marble and onyx mosaics add to the light and fresh look. Temptation granite countertops and luxurious fixtures and finishes complete the lavish feel.

A curving staircase leads to the bottom floor of the home where the entertainment room and guest suite can be found. The perfectly appointed guest room offers sensational views of the infinity pool and lush landscape just beyond its double doors. Timeless shades of blue and white create a light and airy palette for this spacious retreat, and dark, traditional furniture contrasts nicely with softer colored walls and linens.

Just off the suite, the entertainment room features a walnut stone floor in varying sized tile. Natural stone surrounds a bar and kitchen area. Gray, charcoal, brown, and cream colors displayed in the chiseled-edge stone set the tone for the room’s color palette and textures. A painted and glazed tongue and groove ceiling with stained ceiling beams accents stunning black storm granite countertops. Together they provide a perfect complement to dark cabinets near the bar. Further establishing this room as the ideal entertainment area, the kitchen is outfitted with a 27-inch wide Sub-Zero fridge, an icemaker, and a microwave, while the bar provides plenty of seating, and guests can enjoy a pool table, and three TV screens.

A masterpiece in architectural and interior design, this European-style residence is majestic inside and out, showcasing the beauty of the landscape while creating an elegant and restful ambiance.
