The 84th Annual Chattanooga Cotton Ball

 

The 84th annual Chattanooga Cotton Ball was held in July at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Thirty-one young women were presented to the Cotton Ball King and Queen at the debutante ball and dinner-dance. This year’s king was Joseph Edward Petty, manager of the Chattanooga branch of Benjamin F. Edwards & Co. He is married to Nancy Collins Petty and is the father of Tyler and Mimi. This year’s queen was Emily Sharp Powell. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Preston Powell and attends the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
