Dining Room
Memories of coastal vacations inspired this warm and elegant dining space, designed for a professional couple downsizing for retirement. The color palette, consisting of warm, neutral hues, contributes to the overall concept for the room; walls, painted in a soft blue-gray, harken back to the skies and ocean breeze along the shorelines, while custom draperies, tufted dining chairs, and light fixtures mimic soft, clean sands. The textures – everything from linen to wood, woven straw, rustic metals, and more – further connect and enhance the space. Given the neutral color palette, opportunity presents to mix and match furniture to make a clever statement. Additional accessories add visual and textural interest, and greenery further livens the room, popping against its more muted counterparts. A gently distressed glass-front credenza serves as the perfect space to store dishes for entertaining year-round and making new memories.
