Curated Contrast

Living Area

Photography by Ryan Dugger / Creative Revolver

Showcasing the best of loft living, this living area beautifully blends the past with the present thanks to its classic design, historic architecture, and contemporary accents. An exposed brick wall – which spans the length of the room – immediately sets the tone and is juxtaposed with detailed trim work, traditional furnishings, and a large custom built-in housing books and various old-world trinkets. The distinct furniture groupings placed throughout the room allow for intimate or large gatherings, yet the light-colored fabrics and leather materials in each space work together to create a harmonious whole. Matching modern floor lamps flanking the Chesterfield-style sofa continue the theme of contrast, while curated abstract art incorporates colors found in the room, helping to tie the décor together. Pine flooring gives this living space a unique richness and character and is complemented by a custom-bound, durable sisal-feel rug for a touch of texture.
