This light and airy open-plan living area is a culmination of carefully curated and collected design elements that perfectly blend antique and avant-garde. Taupe custom-upholstered sofas, along with quilted, sage velvet accent chairs, center around a sleek, modern coffee table. All of these pieces bask in the natural light of the room’s wall-to-wall windows, which are framed with custom drapery and provide unparalleled views of the Tennessee River and Chattanooga’s Northshore. The niche in the living room wall is accented with a European walnut-finish console table that features a fox-mirrored back and is bedecked with two ribboned oval table lamps that incorporate warm light into the space. The dining area that adjoins the living room’s open plan is flanked with antique composite-style wood architectural columns, which add a traditional touch in playful contrast with the room’s ultramodern track lighting fixtures.
