In the beginning, one challenge the builders faced was positioning the house on the property. Blazek explains, โThe style of the house and the way the property fell, we needed to make sure the daylight basement and back deck would lay out correctly.โ The resulting success reveals two stories of outdoor entertaining space, including a two-tiered wood burning fireplace, outdoor kitchen, and plenty of room for lounging and dining. The exterior is punctuated with wooden posts, while paneled ceilings infuse rustic warmth into the outdoor living spaces.

โThe house speaks for itself โ the homeowners took different ideas from the different areas they lived in the country and put them into this build.โ โNicholas Blazek, Blazek Construction

From accommodating exteriors to thoughtful interiors, this build is centered on beautiful daily living and hosting. โThe homeowners knew from the beginning how they wanted this house to lay out and flow,โ Blazek explains. One emphasis of the house layout is on incorporating the outdoors. The main living area, for example, features wall-to-wall glass siding doors and vaulted ceilings to maximize natural lighting. Guests can easily move between indoor and outdoor living spaces, or they can sit back and enjoy the unobstructed scenery from within. The living room paints a cozy scene, drawing on transitional furnishing to infuse the new build with a sense of history.

Building on this transitional theme, the kitchen reveals the subtle charm of French country influence. Saturated blue hues of the cabinetry pop against white subway tile and wooden tones throughout. While the cabinets sport a timeless shaker-style silhouette, Fleur-de-lis corbeling on the range hood and kitchen island offer a graceful flourish. A linear lantern-style chandelier infuses the room with light, tying in with the gold accents throughout.

Blazek adds that the homeowners love to cook, so the large gas stove and spacious island were a no-brainer. A small bar area ensures extra serving space, while the dining table is only steps away for seamless hosting. Additionally, the homeowners opted for a built-in bookcase, ensuring that favorite recipes and special mementos are always within armโs reach.

Carrying on the theme of classic blues and whites, the primary bathroom boasts pristine elegance. The bright splash of colorful cabinetry is well-fitted to this space, anchoring the dual vanities and roomy bathtub in its ethereal atmosphere. The walk-in shower owes its expansive feeling to large subway tiling and an arched transom window letting in the light. The shower floor features a herringbone motif, while wall niches sport a playful fish scale mosaic.

Rounding out this home, a hidden surprise awaits. Stepping across terracotta flooring in a space reminiscent of an Italian villa, guests approach a barred wooden door that opens to reveal a speakeasy. Moody dรฉcor and gilded trimmings infuse this lounge area with luxury. Accentuating the effect is stunning tilework, with penny tiling creating a floral motif.

From start to finish, this home blends contemporary comforts with flashes of old world opulence. The custom build offers a welcome retreat tailored to the homeownersโ needs, showcasing inspired design and one-of-a-kind spaces.
