Settled directly inside a sprawling porch, this dining room commands a lake view through a wall of windows and glass doors. Its simple yet sophisticated lines allow the views of the space to work their magic, while maintaining an intimate and elegant aesthetic. Dolores Wolfe, the interior designer on the project, envisioned a space that could easily be expanded for large parties. “With the dining table set right inside the door to the porch, in fine weather, they can move between both spaces,” Wolfe says. “With all the tables and seating, they can have a sit-down meal for 24 people.” The Theodore Alexander table, with its elegant S-curve supports and dark wood, was purchased locally from American Home Showplace. Matching Shaker chairs and a hutch, also from American Home Showplace, complete the furnishings. The hutch came in two parts and can be used as a server or a display. The finishing touches are the plates, silverware and glasses from Noritake and Pier One’s summer collection.
