English Chic

A cozy English garden vibe exudes from this kitchen, designed by Jackie Howard. Maple cabinets, painted a soft white, encapsulate the space, and vintage-inspired hardware in two different finishes lends warmth. Dark green soapstone counters with white veining top the perimeter cabinets. The room’s showpiece is a large rustic cherry wood island, which was designed to look like an antique piece of furniture. Delicately carved legs and an arched overhang make up one end, while open storage for kitchen supplies graces the opposite side. Honed white Venatino marble tops the island, and the backsplash is crackled white subway tile. Antique lanterns and sconces are a perfect complement for the space, and a farmhouse sink with a bridge-style faucet rounds out the room. A Sub-Zero refrigerator, Thermador ovens, and a Wolf range are high-quality and functional appliances for culinary aficionados.
