Lively with a traditional touch, this centrally located dining room is both the heart of the home and an opportunity for fun. Arresting wallpaper bearing a chinoiserie motif immediately draws the eye and infuses energy into the space. Three distinctive pieces of art show the homeowner’s love for modern art and add even more interest to the colorful walls. The greens and pinks of the wallpaper are carried throughout, from the Draperesque dining chairs, to the light fixture, to the pink lacquer tray corralling the homeowner’s favorite libations. Adjacent rooms are papered in pink grass cloth with fabrics echoing the pink and green motif. The warmth of the overscale antique secretary and buffet balances the bold ornamentation while also providing much-needed storage. A glass-top dining table at the center of the room adds ease of use for a family of four and allows for easy flow to the sunroom, living room, and kitchen.
