Living Area: Today’s Take on Western

Living Areas

Photography by Jess Harris/Creative Revolver

Fusing contemporary design with classic Western elements, this elegantly earthbound living room features an eclectic mix of textures and textiles inspired by the rolling hills and roaming cattle that surround the home. Sleek walnut paneling and exposed steel beams highlight the home’s modern architectural edge, while the stacked-stone fireplace and flagstone flooring bring rusticity to the space. Continuing this theme, geometric coffee tables, an arc floor lamp, and a set of three antique, mixed metal étagères offer mid-century intrigue, while cowhide and shag rugs, earth-toned leather upholstery, and patterned textiles in the custom-made pillows firmly tie this room to the West. Additionally, triptych art featuring the soulful gaze of a Texas longhorn draws the eye and further highlights this theme. Altogether, this room invites loved ones to come together with ample seating, including the 60s-inspired curved mantel, and a cozy atmosphere.
