Living Areas: Classic Elegance

Directly inside the heavy oak front doors of the McCamish’s Signal Mountain home, a magnificent entryway soars upward to 24-foot ceilings, allowing the eye to travel throughout the entryway and on to the spacious living room. The luxuriously formal entryway features polished porcelain tile in a diamond pattern, with a small display table situated directly in front of sprawling oak built-in bookshelves. The Victorian-inspired displays were put together by interior designer, Marsha Yessick, who collaborated with the owners in selecting every design detail of the home. Beyond the entryway, a plush but sophisticated living room is dominated by a two-story oak fireplace on one wall and an equally majestic alcove of floor-to-ceiling windows that look out to a view of the valley below. A deep red color, custom-mixed by Marsha Yessick, gives the walls a stately character. Yessick blended patterns and textures in the fabrics and rugs to give the room a lived-in feel that nicely sets off the formality of the walls.
