Robbie and Matt Davidson were both looking for love when they came across each other’s profile. The duo, who met on Match.com, dated for just over five years before tying the knot.

“I stumbled across Matt’s profile and was impressed by his sense of humor and wit,” recalls Robbie. “We exchanged a few emails and finally had our first date at St. John’s Meeting Place. We’ve been together ever since that day.”

For their wedding, the Davidsons wanted everything to feel classic but still modern, and the Hunter Museum was the perfect fit. Cloaked by natural light shining through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the museum’s lobby, Robbie and Matt shared their personalized vows with guests during an evening ceremony.

“The atmosphere and views of the river make the Hunter a very special place,” says Robbie. “We are museum members and had attended several events there during our
relationship, so it was a place we were fond of already.”

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a cocktail hour before heading to the river terrace for dinner and dancing. When asked about her favorite part of her big day, Robbie recalls how much she cherished the first look moment that took place prior to the ceremony.

“After so much preparation and excitement, getting to see each other for the first time on our wedding day was so emotional and joyful,” says Robbie. “Another favorite moment of mine was when the DJ announced our last dance. A giant circle spontaneously formed, and everyone had their arms around each other, swaying and singing along to the music. It wasn’t planned, but it was such a moment of happiness and celebration. In that moment, we both felt grateful for all the love and support of our family and friends.”

How He Proposed

“Matt knew I would want a low-key and private proposal, so he woke me up with a cup of coffee on New Year’s Eve and proposed to me with just our two dogs as witnesses. He said that the new year was the perfect time to start our new life together. We went out to brunch afterward with friends to celebrate. It was a perfect, intimate proposal!”
