Brooke and Reid’s courtship can perhaps best be described as a real-life fairytale – in fact, their love story began with a photoshoot at Disneyland! So, for their wintry wedding, the couple chose a fairytale theme that would embody the magic and fantasy of their relationship. “We focused our wedding around flowers and furs, and we chose February because we both love snowy winters and the sweetness of the Valentine’s season,” Brooke tells.
The lavish affair began with an evening ceremony at the Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. Brooke, clad in a spectacular soft blush Monique Lhuillier creation, was flanked by her maid and matron of honor and eight bridesmaids, who carried blush muffs that matched the dusty rose collars of their dresses. More than 450 of the couple’s closest friends and family were on hand to witness the bride and groom exchanging their vows.
As recent residents of Lookout Mountain, Brooke and Reid wanted their reception guests to experience a little piece of their new home – and The Lookout Mountain Club’s historic Fairyland Clubhouse fit the bill. Brooke describes, “The stone fireplace captured the winter feel of our wedding, and we used lush strands of garland, floating candles, and twinkly lights to transform the ballroom into a fantastical and feminine winter wonderland.” After being introduced as Dr. and Mrs. Maclellan for the first time, the couple waltzed into their first dance – “A Million Dreams” from their favorite movie, The Greatest Showman.
To accompany the grand setting, heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by The Lookout Mountain Club were served throughout hours of dancing and revelry. Brooke’s wedding cake – frosted with a stucco vanilla buttercream – was garnished with 100 O’Hara roses to match her opulent bouquet.
The newlywed’s picturesque getaway included sparklers and a vintage ivory Rolls Royce; it was the perfect send-off for their romantic Italian honeymoon.
How He Proposed
“Reid and I were in Newport, Rhode Island, for the weekend. We toured many of the glamorous mansions and then made our way to Castle Hill, where he told me he had an event to attend. As we were walking amidst the sailboats, sparkling blue waters, and sunset sky, Reid got down on one knee and asked for my hand in marriage!”
