Erin & Scott Ezzell
The Read House
Fate, with the help of a dating app, brought Erin Ramsey and Scott Ezzell together. Erin explains, “We swiped right, started talking, and went on our first date just two days later. The conversation flowed easily and centered around travel, so our guest book at the wedding was a travel book with hundreds of destinations!”
Many other personal touches, from the customized bourbon bar to a late-night Chick-fil-A biscuit delivery, filled the couple’s December wedding day and were made possible by their venue, The Read House. Erin says that the recently renovated hotel was an easy choice: “We loved that our guests would be in one location, our ceremony site was within walking distance, and of course, the space is so beautiful.”
Erin and her girlfriends spent the morning of the wedding getting ready in one of the hotel’s spacious suites. A classic white gown – fitted with an origami bow for added flair – served as Erin’s bridal look, and she carried a bountiful, seasonal bouquet of peonies and greenery to meet her groom. She and Scott tied the knot in a romantic ceremony at The Waterhouse Pavilion before making the short trip back down the street to The Read House.
At the hotel, the Silver Ballroom’s crystal chandeliers and ornate silver moldings helped bring Erin’s vision of classic elegance to life, while next door, the Centennial Room supplied the food and a comfortable lounge area. Catering services were provided by the venue and included four themed stations, featuring everything from hanger steak and truffle fries to jerk chicken and sweet plantains.
Hours of dancing to tunes by the lively Papa-Sol band capped off Erin and Scott’s perfect day. “It was really important to us that we have a great party,” Erin says. “From the food and drinks to the phenomenal band, our reception was the exact party we had hoped for!”
How He Proposed
“We took a long weekend trip to the Florida Keys, and Scott proposed while we were watching the sunset on our last night in Key West.”
