Hannah & Trent Settles
The Walden Club
After being introduced through mutual friends at East Tennessee State University, something sparked between Hannah Branton and Trent Settles. Three years later, a surprise Thanksgiving proposal set their dream wedding in motion.
Hannah used classic shades of blush, wine, and gold to carry out her elegant, traditional theme. Her strapless mermaid gown, accessorized with a cathedral veil and crystal-embellished heels, was also on theme. “I felt like such a princess!” Hannah gushes. First Cumberland Presbyterian Church served as the ceremony site, where Trent and Hannah read aloud their handwritten vows before family and friends. Hannah says, “The ceremony was so personal; we wanted it to be unique to us as a couple – from the music selection to our promises for the future.”
Following the sweet ceremony, The Walden Club was the next stop for the couple’s wedding guests. In the dazzling main ballroom, simple hydrangea centerpieces adorned circular tables that surrounded the dance floor. “One of the reasons why we chose The Walden Club was for the food – it’s delicious!” Hannah laughs. “The venue went above and beyond to cater to our guests’ needs. And the ballroom view of the mountains and downtown Chattanooga added the ‘wow’ factor for our out-of-town guests!”
Unsurprisingly, the buffet-style dinner was a hit, and upon its conclusion, Trent and Hannah cut into their raspberry and cream cheese-flavored cake. With the help of a DJ, the sophisticated soirée transformed into a big party amplified with multi-colored disco lights. Hannah shares, “Looking back, my favorite part of the day was the reception. We had the time of our lives, and Trent and I have actually thought about throwing another celebration at The Walden Club to relive the perfect night!”
How He Proposed
“I was enjoying Thanksgiving
with my family while Trent was (to my knowledge) doing the same with his family a state away. We were taking family pictures, and when I was reviewing one of the photos I noticed that Trent had been standing behind me. I turned in disbelief, and Trent got down on one knee and popped the question!”
