The KTM 450 SX-F 2016
1. Engine
More compact dimensions, stronger performance through the full rev range, and a weight reduction of four pounds make this engine one of the strongest and lightest on the off-road market. The 450 SX-F churns out 62 horsepower in a highly efficient manner, largely driven by the Keihin Engine Management System, which features the latest in electronic fuel injection and an all-new 44 mm throttle body that delivers instantaneous response and maximum performance.
2. Chassis
Among a number of upgrades to the chassis, a newly designed frame results in 20% higher torsional rigidity – resistance to the forces the bike encounters when in action – and 30% less longitudinal stiffness than the 2015 model. The increase in flexibility results in better absorption of the energy created from the front and rear wheel loads supporting the suspension for more comfort and less rider fatigue.
3. Suspension
The main goal for the 2016 model’s suspension – weight reduction. Mission accomplished. On top of that, KTM’s 450 SX-F now boasts the new generation of monoshock made by WP Suspension, as well as the advanced WP 4CS (4 Chamber System) four-chamber closed cartridge fork, which was specifically designed for motocross racing.

Powerful and Efficient
The Rotax 1330 ACE engine is an in-line triple-cylinder configuration that delivers maximum torque in every gear and excellent throttle response. In addition to packing 115 hp, it’s extremely efficient, with the ability to ride up to 252 miles on a single 6.5 gallon tank. Not to mention it’s low maintenance.
Optimum Control
The Vehicle Stability System was inspired by automotive technologies and developed in partnership with BOSCH. The system integrates anti-lock brakes, traction control, and stability control for confidence taking on the open road.
Comfort and Ease
A smooth ride is enabled by sport-tuned gas-charged front shocks that feature anodized-aluminum bodies and threaded preload adjustments. Adding to the relaxed ride is the electronically-controlled power steering system, which provides a varying amount of assistance depending on the speed of the vehicle. The F3-S is always easy to maneuver and steer.
