Casting a prominent shadow, the Tudor-style chimney features herringbone brickwork framed by a traditional running bond. Breaking up the warm-brown and rust-red variation brick, the charcoal window frames and porch railing give the home an aesthetically pleasing contrast. Just beyond the entryway, solid white oak flooring leads guests to an open-concept kitchen. White cabinetry lines the kitchen walls and is masterfully integrated to conceal the refrigerator. Glazed subway tile forms a crisp, clean backsplash, while the countertops consist of white marble with light graining. From the suspended glass pendant lights to the extending wall sconce and caged chandelier, the rose gold lighting shimmers on the oak furniture’s surface. At the island, four woven leather barstools complement the adjacent farmhouse table with its studded chairs and full-length wooden bench.

Stepping away from the dining table, guests can lounge in the living room, which boasts a soft-arched fireplace with shiplap accents that frame the upper half of the structure. Every window is draped in a burlap Roman shade, complementing the home’s warm, neutral palette. The eyes bounce from the grounding sunset painting to the leather barrel chair and, finally, the velvet peach accent pillow. Likewise, the floral accent pillows call out to the vintage rug. Wooden décor, like the oversized decorative beads, organic-style side table, and raw driftwood, helps ground the space in a warm, earthy feel.

The primary bedroom’s color palette shifts from warm to slightly cooler tones, featuring soft blues and cream. A ruffled navy duvet swathes the bed and pillows in texture, with a floral woven blanket layered to match the accent pillows. Overhead, a three-panel canvas displays a vibrant, mountainous lakeside scene. With water in mind, a porcelain soaker tub offers a serene escape in the primary bathroom, with a moon-like caged pendant light shining above. Frosted windows provide a sense of privacy, while allowing natural light to fill the pristine space. The walk-in shower is open and airy, with large marble-tile walls and a hex-tile floor that resembles honeycomb. For storage, a double vanity provides the perfect space for toiletries and essentials.

Following the palm leaf wallpaper down the hall, a sliding French door gives way to a sleek office space. Charcoal gray envelops the room, including the ceiling, built-in bookshelves, and cabinetry, pairing well with a matching executive desk. A colorful reading chair sits in the corner, adorned in a tree-of-life pattern that gives the space movement. With a variety of books, bottles, and knickknacks on the shelves, the eye is drawn upward to the golden caged chandelier, illuminating the space with a warm glow that is enhanced by abundant natural light. “This home was truly a labor of love,” finishes Waldrep. “No detail was overlooked, and we couldn’t be more pleased with how this river overlook retreat turned out.
