Practical and Perfect

What is now an elegant and stunning kitchen masterpiece was once a much simpler and smaller space. The original floor plan was narrow, so the home’s laundry room was relocated and an arch was built to create this new butler’s pantry space. The kitchen flows through to the adjoining rooms, creating an ideal entertaining environment.

Carol MacKinnon of Ana Woodworks worked with the homeowner to create a remarkable space that’s appealing to the eye as well as functional. Heavily ornamental moldings, influenced by the Federal or Adam style period, add classical details. Durable quartzite counters with marble characteristics complement the soft, neutral color palette while beautiful Federal-style light fixtures bring an element of elegance. Crisp white cabinets are accented by subtly patterned wallpaper for a touch of texture.
