“I got this recipe years ago from Joe Cannon, and it’s been a favorite appetizer ever since. I like to serve my shrimp dip with Captain’s Wafers crackers or Fritos Scoops, but other chips, crackers, and even celery pair well with the dip.”

Shrimp Dip

Equipment

  • Food processor

Ingredients
  

  • ½ onion
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 6 oz chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp horseradish
  • Cholula Hot Sauce, to taste
  • 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined (pat dry)
  • 1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning

Instructions
 

  • Finely chop the onion in a food processor. Add cream cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, chili sauce, horseradish, and a couple dashes of hot sauce. Process until just mixed.
  • Sprinkle shrimp with Old Bay, then add to the food processor and pulse a few times to keep the shrimp in large chunks.
  • Chill 2-3 hours before serving. Serve cold.
