For designer Alice Davenport, the challenge in this dining room was creating an intimate feeling while still allowing for both large parties and small family dinners. To accomplish this goal, an inviting blue coats the walls and upholstered high-back chairs soften the room while complementing the mahogany table. Two matching brass and crystal chandeliers hang above the table, creating visual interest.
