Traditional mouldings mix with contemporary furnishings to create a transitional space that is simple yet sophisticated. Crisp white wainscoting, a beautifully coffered ceiling, and a soft, pale green-blue wall color provide a lovely backdrop for carefully curated furnishings and artwork. The dining suite’s straight lines pleasingly parallel the wainscoting and lantern light fixture. The dining chairs are covered in an ikat pattern featuring blue, white, and pale gray. Those same colors are picked up in the wool rug, woven in a contemporary pattern. Above the wainscoting, pastel architectural paintings are mounted on large, textured gray mattes and surrounded by muted satin brass-colored frames. A large china cabinet displays wedding china, further elevating the space.
