Soothingly Serene

Every detail in this bedroom is masterfully designed to establish a calming aesthetic. Monochromatic tones of cream and ivory are layered throughout the space, creating a serene backdrop and allowing natural light from the picture windows to cast an ethereal glow in the room. The view of the outside is framed by long cream panels with monochromatic trim, which hang from a simple hand-forged iron rod and rings. The walls are washed in light beige, and the custom velvet headboard matches the ecru shade of bed linens perfectly. The only fabric with a pattern is seen in the throw pillows – the rest relies on texture to add depth and interest. The accessories, including framed intaglios over the bed, square stacked alabaster lamps, a cream cowhide rug, and a Swedish antique chest to the right of the bed, are also in muted tones to complement the airy atmosphere. Opposite the bed, the 19th-century French armoire is composed of cherry wood with unique chevron paneled doors. Two sculptural columns, in a weathered finish, flank the armoire in a pleasing, symmetrical design.
