Soar across the sky on a hang glider or paraglider at Lookout Mountain Flight Park. Here, certified instructors will accompany you on a tandem flight as you glide up to 3,000 feet in the air. Those wanting to learn how to fly solo can take advantage of the location’s Flight School, which has been training pilots since 1978.

If you’re an animal lover, head to Rosie Mae’s Alpaca Farm & Boutique to hand-feed and snap some photos with the farm’s alpacas. The Oscar Ellis American Legion Post 106 Military Museum, open Fridays and Saturdays, houses artifacts from America’s military history, ranging from the War of 1812 until modern day. During your visit, you can also view personal displays from Dade County veterans and learn about their experiences during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

CATCH A MOVIE

Sit back and relax as you enjoy two back-to-back feature films at the Wilderness Outdoor Theater, open on weekends April – October. Choose from one of the theater’s 1,000 parking spaces to watch from your car or bring chairs and blankets to set up on the grassy hillside. Before the show begins, be sure to stop by the full-service concession stand to stock up on some sweet and salty snacks.
