When you’re on the go all day, having a place to retreat and relax is essential. Designer Haskell Matheny created the feel of this sanctuary to help the active homeowner start and end her day with luxury and calm. For this renovation, the layout of the room was kept the same, but the vaulted ceiling was emphasized with French limestone to draw the eye upwards, culminating in a walnut beam. A large soaking tub sits neatly beneath the window, allowing for a view of the wooded landscape. The cream and white color palette was used throughout the space, with French limestone on the wall and floor and Calacatta marble for the countertop of the white vanity. The walnut, used in the beam, is again repeated in the custom mirror as well as the vanity chair design. Polished nickel accents on the chandelier, the faucetry, and the hardware add a classic and yet calm touch to this bath retreat.
