Today’s Traditional

Living Areas

Photography by Ryan Dugger/Creative Revolver

This chic and inviting living room stylishly integrates traditional design styles with modern trends. Anchored by a handful of thoughtfully incorporated antique case pieces, the room has a distinct warmth and sturdiness about it. Meanwhile, light, neutral chairs and couches with classically tailored, curved arms bring an aesthetic levity to the room. The swivel chairs are upholstered in an agreeable light gray linen, while the sofa presents a beige, tightly woven bouclé fabric. Atop the neutral palette of the furniture, fresh hues of green in the throw pillows and décor give the room pronounced excitement and complement the bright foliage of the treetops visible from the room’s many large windows. Centered over the mantel, a brushed gold frame houses a landscape Impressionist oil painting displayed between a pair of teal artisanal vases. The mantel itself is flanked by antique mercury glass mirrors, accents that reinforce balance in this already well-rounded space.
