Local Wedding Venues: The Chattanoogan

Nina & Hudson Brock: 7.20.12

Plenty of girls dream about a fairy tale wedding. Nina Brock did more than just dream it – her bold vision combined with just the right resources transformed a corner of Chattanooga into a glowing – and very, very pink – fairyland.

Nina is no stranger to making dreams come true. In high school, Nina says she had a dream that she and Hudson were dating. “I didn’t know him that well, but I joked to him about the dream on Facebook.” It didn’t take long for them to start dating in real life, and Hudson capped it all off with a magical New Year’s proposal.

For her wedding, Nina created a fairy tale with the help of a few local companies. The ballrooms in The Chattanoogan were transformed into a soft, shimmering pavilion, with billowing pink satins, soft lighting, and a glittering chandelier.

Nina picked The Chattanoogan for its expansive ballrooms, all-inclusive wedding packages, and exceptional food. To convert the ballroom to a lush but intimate atmosphere, Nina worked with her employer, Sound Force, and their partner Luma Designs to bring the vision to life. White Table handled the linens, using subtle alternations between champagne-colored satin and linen covered in delicate rose petal designs. Guests moved with ease through The Chattanoogan, watching the ceremony in an open ballroom, and retreating to the hall for cocktails while the room was flipped for a reception. Hotel staff made the transition easy and luxurious.

At the reception the cake, by Couture Cakes, rose in six molded pink tiers high above Hudson’s head. The pink was mirrored in her flowers provided by Grafe Studio.

“My colors were pink and champagne. The only white in the whole room was my dress and our daughter Avaleigh’s.”

Her dress was made by a designer carried by the Prado Collection. Her hair was done by Karie from Hair Benders, a loosely flowing half-up style that left her looking naturally glowing, with make-up done by freelance makeup artist, Lindsay Purcell.

The entire celebration was captured by Cine Shot Productions, a local video company. “They filmed everything!  Now we can go back any time to share the memories.”
