Waters-Holland Builders – European Remodel

This NorthShore remodel began as a longstanding house with outstanding character. After gutting the house to the studs and foundation, Waters-Holland Builders created a unique home within the traditional disposition of the original structure. Newly added space features a master suite, a half bath, and laundry space on the main floor, additional bedrooms and bathrooms in the previously uninhabitable upstairs, and a finished basement, ultimately creating 3,450 square feet of total custom-finished space out of the original 1,750 square feet. The European exterior features stucco and the original red clay roof. Perfectly matching shingles, which had been out of production for decades, were used in remodeling to salvage the original warm terra cotta feel. Inside, the contemporary kitchen is home to well-appointed features, including custom cabinetry, granite countertops, a functional prep island, and a tiled backsplash. A relaxed living space incorporates a fireplace that is wrapped in wooden floorboards taken from the original structure – a special finishing touch that ties the legacy of the old home into the new. This custom remodel is unique and practical, offering accommodating amenities throughout.
