Buñuelos

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 cups vegetable oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Mix ½ cup sugar with ground cinnamon and set aside.
  • Pour the flour, remaining sugar, and salt into a large mixing bowl.
  • Add egg and shortening and mix well.
  • Add warm water a little at a time and mix until dough no longer sticks to your hands.
  • Transfer dough to a clean working surface and knead for 8-10
