Kai Bistro's Korean Fried Chicken with Hot Honey Gochujang Dressing Recipe

Ingredients
  

For the chicken:

  • 16 oz. chicken thighs
  • 2 cups corn starch
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp. onion powder
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. white pepper

For the sauce:

  • 1 cup Gochujang paste
  • 2 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 2 Tbsp. mirin (sweet cooking wine)
  • 2 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar

For garnish:

  • 2 Tbsp. raw honey
  • Sesame seeds
  • Green onions

Instructions
 

  • Cut chicken into bite-size pieces. Combine corn starch, water, and seasonings to create a batter.
  • Mix chicken with batter and deep fry at 350° for 3 minutes. Remove chicken and let cool before deep frying again for another 3 minutes. Blend all sauce ingredients.
  • Mix together sauce and fried chicken until fully coated, and plate. Drizzle honey over chicken and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
